Mosquitos feed on the blood of animals, including humans. This alone can be enough for us to dislike mosquitoes, as they also leave itchy welts after they have fed on you.
However, there is a more important reason why mosquitoes should be avoided. Aside from being a nuisance, mosquitoes can also carry and transfer diseases.
Mosquitoes can share diseases that are deadly to humans, including the Zika virus, West Nile virus, malaria, and, unfortunately, many more.
- Mosquitoes need to lay their eggs in water in order for their eggs to hatch. Ridding your home of standing water can help riduce the amount of mosquitoes that come around and stay around.
- Using mosquito repellants, like sprays and citronella candles, to vere mosquitoes in the opposite direction. As well, wearing long sleaves and pants in areas that mosquitoes that have a high quantity can help protect you from getting bit.
- Mosquito misting systems and other forms of mosquito control can also be placed and administered around your home if you have a bigger problem with mosquitoes.
